Meet Michael Wilson, a visual storyteller from Providence, Rhode Island. He has a passion for freezing moments in time through the art of photography. Based in Houston, TX, Michael skillfully captures the subtleties of life through the lens of analog photography. Beyond the lens, Michael finds inspiration in the rhythms of jazz and the soulful melodies of music. He strongly believes the improvisational and soulful nature of jazz resonates seamlessly with the timeless charm of analog photography, thereby inspiring a rhythmic dance between light and shadow in each frame.

Michael has used a wide range of formats, ranging from 35mm to 4x5 large format. He primarily documents with medium format cameras, namely the Mamiya RB67 and Rolleiflex cameras. He is predominately a black and white photographer but adds color to his palette when appropriate.

Michael spends more of his time today working in the traditional darkroom.

When not tethered to the camera, Michael is a jazz enthusiast and is often spotted indulging in the sounds of jazz legends while building a collection of their vinyl records.
